ACCA TO DEGREE ADMISSION​
ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the global body for professional accountants. They aim to offer business-relevant, first-choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management.
SMU offers anyone with ACCA qualifications the ability to earn either a Bachelor's or Master's degree in less than a year depending on your specific ACCA qualification and prior academic background. Contact us for details at admissions@stmonicauniversity.com.
ACCA to Bachelor of Science degee in Accounting:
If you've completed the 14 ACCA modules as well as the Professional Ethics module, you can complete your degree on-campus or online by taking the following courses at SMU:
1. Seminar on Undergraduate Studies (12 credits)
2. Research Methods & Writing Skills (8 credits)
3. Economics (4 credits)*
4. General Psychology (4 credits)*
5. Business & Entrepreneurship (4 credits)*
6. Grant Writing (4 credits)*
7. Introduction to Biology (4 credits)*
8. Any Foreign Language (4 credits)*
9. Accounting Review Course (4 credits)
*Any of the starred courses can be replaced by similar courses. You'll be informed of your exact requirements during admission.
ACCA to Master in Business Administration (MBA):
If you already have any bachelor's degree and then complete the ACCA certification, you can complete your MBA at SMU by simply completing the following courses:
1. Seminar on Graduate Studies
2. Research Methods and Statistical Analysis
3. Management, Organizational Behavior, and Entrepreneurship
4. Marketing in a Global Economy
5. Business Law & Ethics
6. Economic Theory
7. Master's Thesis
HND TO DEGREE ADMISSION
Holders of the Higher National Diploma (HND) from any accredited institution can join the SMU Degree Completion Program (DCP), which allows them to complete their bachelor's degree in one academic year, studying either on-campus or online. The DCP is available to students in various fields ranging from business to engineering.
REGISTERED NURSE TO BACHELOR'S DEGREE
State Registered Nurses who have completed three years of studies in Cameroon or other similarly trained nurses without a Bachelor’s degree can engage in a one-year program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from SMU. These programs can either be completed on-campus or online.
LAB TECHNICIAN TO BACHELOR'S DEGREE
Medical Laboratory Technicians with a state-issued diploma in Cameroon or other foreign graduates with the relevant qualifications can engage in a one-year program leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from SMU. This program can either be completed on-campus or online.
TEACHER'S GRADE ONE TO BACHELOR'S DEGREE
Holders of the Cameroon Teacher's Grade One Certificate together with at least two GCE Advanced Level subjects can be admitted into SMU to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Education in one year. The program can be completed either online or on-campus.
DIPLOMA TO BACHELOR'S OR MASTER'S DEGREES
(GRADUATES OF PROESSIONAL SCHOOLS)
Graduates from any of the professional schools of higher education in Cameroon such as ENS, ASMAC, ENAM etc... Holders of an Undergraduate (or First Cycle) Diploma can convert it into a Bachelor's degree, while holders of a Post-Graduate (or Second Cycle) Diploma can convert it into a Master's degree within a year by attending SMU.
