ACCREDITATION​

Founded in 2012, Saint Monica University (SMU), the American International University, is Incorporated in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, as a degree-granting institution and is in Good Standing with the State.

 

UNITED STATES ACCREDITATION

Saint Monica University has also applied to set up a US-based ground campus in the State of Delaware. As of now we are approved to run a number of professional certifications in the fields of business, education, health, technology etc. SMU is also pursuing regional accreditation in the United States and there are also plans to seek programmatic accreditation for its various professional programs.

 

SMU DEGREES VALIDATED BY INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITIES

Saint Monica University (SMU) degrees are valided by Azteca University in Mexico, Central University of Nicaragua, and Charisma University in Turks and Caicos Islands in the British West Indies. These degrees are equivalent to degrees from regionally accredited universities in the United States.

THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITIES

Saint Monica University (SMU): The American International University is a member of the

prestigious International Association of Universities (IAU). The IAU is the

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization

(UNESCO)-based worldwide association of higher education institutions.

Also known as the International Universities Bureau of the United Nations,

it brings together over 600 higher education institutions and organisations

from over 120 countries for reflection and action on common concerns

and collaborates with various international, regional and national bodies

active in higher education.

 

GLOBAL UNIVERSITIES IN DISTANCE EDUCATION

Saint Monica University (SMU) is just one of about a dozen African universities to join the Global Universities In Distance

Education (GUIDE). The GUIDE Association was founded in 2005 by Marconi University with the aim to develop and support

international cooperation and open and distance learning worldwide. By strengthening the role of higher education

institutions as innovation and development drivers, GUIDE promotes the implementation of innovative results, insights and

best practices in order to identify present, emergent and future needs of regional and international stakeholders and

highlight potential areas for strategic partnership and transnational cooperation.

 

THE TALLOIRES NETWORK

Saint Monica University (SMU) is a member of the prestigious association bringing

together over 350 universities in over 75 countries. The Talloires Network is an international association of institutions

committed to strengthening the civic roles and social responsibilities of higher education. University civic engagement and

social responsibility means: educating future leaders for change; mobilizing university professors and students to address

pressing societal issues, to combat poverty, and to improve public health; and adopting socially and environmentally

responsible institutional policies and practices.

 

THE EUROPEAN DISTANCE AND E-LEARNING NETWORK

Saint Monica University (SMU) is currently a member of the

European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN). Founded in 1991 and originally named the European Distance

Education Network, EDEN is an international educational association open to institutions and individuals dealing with

e-learning, Open education, and distance education. EDEN is a not-for-profit organisation, registered as a limited Company

under English law. Being a membership organisation with over 200 institutions and 1200 individuals from different levels of

education and training, EDEN assists a wide range of organisations, networks and experts to collaborate. We share

knowledge, develop understanding amongst professionals in distance and e-learning and promote policies in Europe.

EDEN is instrumental in the promotion of networking, international co-operation and professional development. EDEN

organises annual European conferences, releases academic publications, offers information services and plays useful role

in a wide range of European projects. Bi-annual Research Workshops and the Open Classroom Conferences increase the

impact. From 1995, EDEN runs the European Journal of Open, Distance and E-Learning (EURODL). EDEN’s key asset has been

the strong and active membership. By joining EDEN SMU became part of a developing innovative community of academics

and practitioners, representing about 60 countries and over 420 institutions. Since 1997 the Secretariat of the Association

has been hosted by the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary.

 

ASSOCIATION OF CERTIFIED FRAUD EXAMINERS

Saint Monica University (SMU) is an educational partner of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE),

which is the world's largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training and education.
